Tarana and InfraBand Announce Partnership Enabling Asian-Pacific Internet Service Providers to Expand Network Reach with Next-Gen Fixed Wireless Access (ngFWA)

Yatala, Australia and Milpitas, California, USA – InfraBand, an Australian distributor of telecommunications and RF (radio frequency) equipment, and Tarana, manufacturer of the Gigabit 1 (G1) solution that is transforming the broadband industry, today announced their partnership to bring G1 to internet service providers (ISPs) throughout the Asia Pacific region.

InfraBand serves carriers and wireless ISPs (WISPs) of all sizes throughout Australia, the Polynesian Islands, the Solomon Islands, New Zealand, and Papa New Guinea, providing equipment and supporting services to aid in their customers’ business growth. Paul Wallace, CEO of InfraBand, shared, “The main goal of our partnership with Tarana is to help operators understand why G1 is truly their best option to expand into new markets. The significant increases in capacity and performance will allow them to connect homes that were previously unreachable.”

Tarana is the category creator of ngFWA, having spent more than a decade of intense R&D building an entirely new fixed wireless solution from the ground up for broadband. Proven to be the first instance of true interference cancellation and NLoS (non-line-of-sight) functionality in fixed wireless, G1 is an award-winning solution that has now been adopted across the globe by more than 200 operators, 7 large distributors, and 10+ smaller channel partners in just over a year.

Wallace is a longtime player in the RF industry who recalls many promises of interference cancellation and NLoS capabilities from other manufacturers over the years. “None of it ever worked as advertised” he shared, “until now.” He and his team credit vastly greater capacity than any previous point-to-multi-point (PtMP) wireless system, ability to operate in true NLoS scenarios, and breakthrough interference cancellation with real RF re-use (N=1) as the primary reasons Tarana is “the best we’ve seen in our 24 years in the space” and what sealed the deal for this partnership.

Dale Branlund, CTO and Co-Founder of Tarana, added, “We are very grateful to be adding InfraBand to the list of partners that are championing G1 all over the world. Like Tarana, InfraBand is driving industry transformation and together we will enable significant market growth and success for their customers across the Asia Pacific region.”
